President Barack Obama traveled to Detroit on Friday to General Motors and to Chrysler plants. He heads to a Ford factory in Chicago later this week.
In this week's Washington Report on WQXR, WNYC's Lance Luckey talks to David Sanger, Chief Washington Correspondent for The New York Times, about whether the big government bailout of the auto industry has worked and whether a double-dip recession is likely. Sanger also talks about the comments that Secretary of Defense Robert Gates made on Sunday about the tens of thousands of classified military field reports about the Afghan war that Wiki-Leaks.org posted last week. Gates said that the Taliban announced they were going pouring through the classified military documents.
